Our annual 1st Arbutus Christmas Dinner is being held at the Crow’s Nest Lounge on Friday 11th December:
- Arrival time starts at 6pm,
- Grace for 6:15,
- There will be announcements, presentations, songs, skits, cheers and a special guest
- Clean up starts around 8pm,
- Doors close at 8:30pm.
Families are asked to bring their own mess kit (cutlery, plate, cup/mug, bowl or dessert plate).
This is not a “kiss and drop” function, this is an opportunity for families to reconnect and share with each other in a relaxed environment. This is an opportunity for Scouters to spend time with other families, and for everyone to share in their amazing accomplishments over the past year. Scouters will not be providing the supervision as expected at a meeting.
Youth are expected to be in full uniform. Families may also be involved with Guides, and they are welcome to wear their uniforms as well. Santa has been invited to attend, so this is an opportunity for some families to update their photo albums.
Each section will be asked to do a song, skit and a cheer (best to have a spare or two).
Each section will be asked to bring something to share – please include an ingredient list as some families have allergies, or have dietary restrictions. Please provide a serving utensil for your dish, and ensure both the dish and the utensil are labelled (returned to rightful owner). Families are asked to bring a dish for 6 to 8 people to share.
Families are to supervise their youth at the food table. I will be calling the tables individually, and I will be calling seconds once everyone has eaten. If everyone takes respectful amounts, everyone has the opportunity to enjoy all the shared items.
